These services are available for completed manuscripts that have been edited or formatted. Once proofreading is complete your book is ready for publication.

Please note: this service is not recommended for manuscripts where attention is still required for flow, structure, plot, voice and tone and aspects related to editing. If this is required please consider an edit to correct these issues in your manuscript before proceeding.

Standard proofreading service

This is where you provide your manuscript file as a word.doc file after editing, or as a formatted print PDF.
Once proofreading is complete, you will receive your word.doc file or print PDF file back with comments for you to pass on to your typesetter to make the changes.

This standard proofreading service addresses:

  • Spelling
  • punctuation
  • grammar

How it works

1. After you’ve submitted your quote confirmation form we’ll be in touch to confirm a scheduled start date.

2. You can choose your preferred proofreading service, or we can advise whether a standard or basic proofread is needed. This is so you don’t pay any more than you have to.

3. Once the proofreading service and start date is confirmed, you’ll be emailed a secure PayPal invoice.

4. Once payment has been received, proofreading will begin as scheduled. Once complete, your manuscript file will be returned to you.

Q. What type of payment do you accept?

A. All payments for proofreading services are made via secure PayPal, which also accepts all major credit cards. Don’t worry; you don’t need a PayPal account to pay. We also accept bank transfer(EFT) payments (Australians only).

Q. What information do I need before ordering?

A. The order process begins with completing your quote confirmation form. We’ll be in touch to confirm a start date and provide an invoice. To get started we’ll need your manuscript in a ‘word.doc’ or ‘.docx’ file format.

Q. Do you accept deposits?

A. Not at this time. Projects require payment up front in full to be booked in. We can certainly chat with you about the possibility of a deposit depending on the size of the project.

Q. How long does proofreading take?

A. The average standard proofreading service takes approximately 2 weeks for 60,000 words.

Q. Are there any privacy or non-disclosure agreements to sign?

A. No documents to sign, although during the ordering process you’ll be required to confirm you have read the terms and conditions page before submitting. All your information is kept confidential including all email correspondence.
